Mass Farmers Markets (MFM)
Mass Farmers Markets is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 1978. MFM is a collaboration of the Massachusetts Department of Food and Agriculture, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Extension Service, and farmers across the state.
Over 200 farmers markets receive support from Mass Farmers Markets. MFM emerged due to the need for a central organization to assure a vibrant future. Industry leaders recognized the need for more than city, state, and federal funding to sustain farmers markets.
For over 45 years MFM develops, supports, and provides training for farmers markets. They champion the interests of communities served as well as the farmers who depend upon them for livelihood.
